Built from published price lists of European providers, July 2026

What AI costs in Europe in 2026

There is no single European price for AI work. DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and CEE (Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia) differ by two to three times on the same service, and any average taken between them describes neither market. Below are both ranges side by side, built from published price lists rather than from agency blog estimates.

One European average does not exist

The most common mistake in pricing articles is to average the whole of Central Europe into one number. On these services the spread between DACH and CEE runs from 1.7 to 3 times. A midpoint between a German price and a Polish price is not a European price: it is a number that no supplier on either market charges, and the sign of any comparison against it flips depending on which sources happened to land in the range.

The practical consequence is that a buyer should first decide which market they are buying from, and only then look at the number. The same voice agent, built to the same brief, is a different product commercially in Munich and in Katowice.

A voice agent costs about twice what a text agent costs

This ratio holds far more tightly than the absolute numbers do. Checking it the cleanest way available, across nine European providers that publish a text price and a voice price in the same price list, so that segment and margin are identical, the monthly multiplier clusters between 2.0 and 2.5, with a median of 2.35.

    • ServasBot (AT): 2.02x
    • JARABOT (CZ): 1.71x
    • ai-agent.si (SI): 2.35x
    • InteliWISE (PL): 2.50x
    • Flowmatiq (DE): 2.54x
    • chatbotnamieru (SK): 3.33x
    • Apex Web (HU): 1.60x

The reason for the premium is the same everywhere and it is not development complexity: it is conversation minutes, billed at 0.12 to 0.30 EUR per minute in DACH and 0.73 to 0.78 PLN per minute in Poland. Part of what looks like a higher build price is a prepaid package of minutes. If a quote does not say who pays for minutes and at what rate, that is the first question to ask.

One counterexample exists: KI-Beratung Deutschland sells voice cheaper than text. A single outlier across nine price lists is worth naming rather than hiding, but it does not move the median.

Where the two markets diverge most

The gap is not uniform. It is widest on work sold as senior time and narrowest on work sold as a deliverable.

    • Fractional Chief AI Officer: the DACH median is more than twice the CEE median. Fractional roles are priced through days per week in Europe, not as a flat retainer, and a monthly figure without a stated load cannot be compared at all.
    • Niche and competitor research: DACH starts where the CEE range ends. German boutiques begin fixed-price work at 2 500 EUR and a typical Market Check runs 3 500 EUR, while the Polish median for one study is around 1 850 EUR.
    • GEO, monthly: the widest published range of anything here, 240 to 15 000 EUR in DACH. This is a young service with no settled definition, so the number alone carries almost no information about scope.
    • GEO audit: the closest match between the two markets, 490 against 578 EUR at the median. A one-off audit is a well-defined deliverable, and well-defined deliverables converge.

    How these ranges were built

    • One rule for every row. The low end is the entry price actually published by a European provider, not a promotion and not a from-zero teaser. The high end is the top of the small and mid-size segment, meaning the last price before the jump to enterprise or to quote-on-request.
    • Paired services are drawn from one pool. Text and voice, audit and project, come from the same suppliers wherever a supplier publishes both, so the ratio between them is not an artefact of mixing sources.
    • Published price lists outrank blog ranges. A range quoted by an agency that sells the same service is weaker evidence than that agency's own price page.
    • US figures are excluded. Dollar prices converted into euros and presented as European numbers were the single largest source of error in the first version of this research.
    • Exchange rates as of 30 July 2026: 1 PLN = 0.2312 EUR, 1 CZK = 0.0414 EUR, 1 USD = 0.8756 EUR.

Limitations worth stating. These are list prices, not transaction prices, and published lists skew towards providers confident enough to publish. Lead generation is left out of the table because it is priced per lead or per retainer on incomparable bases. The ranges describe July 2026 and the GEO rows in particular will move fastest.
