    What exactly does your scanner do to my site, and can I refuse?

    It sends at most eight ordinary requests to pages your server already serves publicly: the home page, robots.txt, sitemap, llms.txt, a missing-page probe and up to two inner pages. No login, nothing hidden, nothing stored from your content beyond the technical findings. It identifies itself as SiteCheck/1.0 with a link back to this page. If you would rather it stayed away, add a Disallow for SiteCheck in your robots.txt and it will read robots.txt only and crawl nothing further, or write to me and I will block your domain.

    Generative Engine Optimization: making your site readable and quotable for AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity, the way SEO does for Google. The technical base is crawler access, content in raw HTML and entity markup.

    Why does raw HTML matter so much?

    Most AI crawlers do not execute JavaScript. If your content appears only after scripts run, assistants receive an empty page. This check fetches your site exactly the way they do.

    My site is behind Cloudflare. Is the check wrong?

    No, that is the finding itself. If our scanner gets a challenge page, ChatGPT's crawler gets it too. Allowlist verified AI crawlers if you want assistants to read the site.

    What does the paid audit add to this free check?
